2013 Week 8

Hate this

I hate this game.
I've lost the will to go on. :( sigh.

Let's look at something interesting... like, PlayerPerformance-Outcome relationships.

MSGoregasms, losses in week 2, 4, 7, 8
Who needs to go? Shady McCoy.
Week 2: 16.7 (not bad)
4: 9.4
7: 8.1
8: 6.5

Chip Kelly started off very well.
He used Shady for 31 carries on week one (24.9) and hasn't given him the rock 25 or more times except once (week 6; 15.1)

Joon's Football Squad, losses in week 1, 8
Who needs to go? Hard to say given his activity and lack of losses.
"Take a shot in the dark douchebag". Alright... Quizz.
Week 1: 0.2 (DNP)
Week 8: 1.9

or maybe Mike Wallace
Week 1: 1.5
Week 8: 4.9

Thing with both these guys is that A. Quizz doesn't really get starts on this squad and B. Mike Wallace pulled off 2.2 and 2.4 points in winning weeks.

Calvin's Johnson, losses in week 1, 4
Performance proof.
Week 1 was a major Kang of Julius Thomas and week 4 was a combination of byes and some bad bad matchups.

Hey Kevin. t(-_-t)

i got a win, losses in weeks 1-6.
Who needs to go? Everyone?

To his credit, everyone HAS been getting going. He's doing quite well the last couple weeks, He's been scoring 94points+ the last 5 weeks. Kaep's use in the offense surely helps. Who doesn't help? Getting Colston for RAY RICE... which was... interesting, but that guy blows. He needs to get it going.

Team Excrement, losses in weeks 3,5,7,8
Who needs to go? Brady.
So many candidates for this team. There were so many players who in weeks 3,5,7,8 had their worst performances. 3 of them have 1 of those weeks with good performances.

Brady was the only one with 3 awful performances and 1 subpar one.
Week 3: 15.5
5: 5.9
7: 7.1
8: 7.1

Those are some awful numbers for a elite quarterback and it actually makes me really sad... Get it together brah.

Ansahppable Cabrera, losses in weeks 2,3,5
Who needs to go? Again... many candidates. I'll go with Fitz.

Week 2: 3.3
3: 6.4
5: 4.3

He did throw up a gross 1.7 last week against the legion of boom but still squeaked a 0.5 point win.

Again, Fitz is supposed to be elite, but man he just isn't getting the ball as much as he should.

Cruz to Victor, losses in weeks 2,3,6,7,8
Who needs to go? The guy his team is named for.
Cruz...
week 2: 11.8
3: 2.5
6: 6.8
7: 5
8: 8.6

Again, Elite guy, putting up some mid to low WR2 to high flex numbers in too many games. 29.8, 22.4 is in this guy's potential. 4 TDs this season with 3 of them in week one. Get it together Salsa.

SCOOP YOU losses in... everything.
Who needs to go? ...

...

Atlanta Lions losses in weeks 1,5,6,7
Who needs to go? Interesting here. Let's say Sproles and Dez.
Dez...
week 1: 2.2
5: 24.1 (outlier)
6: 3.6
7: 11

Sproles
1: 11
5: 4.1
6: 7.3
7: bye
8: 0 (just adding)

Now Dez is a for sure elite WR, he knows it too, just overestimates his ability to be Calvin-esque. Sorry Dez, you're "one of the best" not "the best".
He's clearly a guy who needs to score. 8 TDs in 8 weeks is great, so he's hard to blame for this, but it's what the trend says.

Sproles is hard to blame as well as he's such a risky play every week as a pass catching, non-primary back. His potential is more about the aerial game than the run (obviously). This past week he caught 4 for 0. Got lucky this week but can't get away with that anymore. It's crunch time.

36 Dollar Man losses in weeks 4,8
Who's got to go? I don't know. Another guy with too many major moves and not enough losses.

What does his losses have in common? This week an RB, 2 WRs, TE, and FLEX all blew chunks. Week 4? The same minus flex.
I guess this team just needs to avoid 4 or more players epic failing.

What Am i doing, losses in 1,3,4,6,7
Who needs to go? Lamar Miller.
Week 1: 1
3: 6.4
4: 12.8
6: bye
7: 4.7

Not that the weeks he won was much different but they were different enough. After a trend where Lamar was taking control of the backfield job in Miami he started to lose it. This past week though, he got 18 carries... the most of this season. He still isn't very dependable to score but he's good enough to make a difference.

Thobias Funke, losses in weeks 2,5,6
Who needs to go? Brees.

Week 2: 12.9
5: 19.3
6: 16.5

Those weeks are the exact weeks that he's scored the least amount of points. Take those weeks away and what does Brees average? 29.6 points. 30... friggin points. That's his potential. Get it Brees. Pass it to Stills... hehehe....

============================================================

Not going to discuss matchup to matchup stuff.
I'll quick hit though.

It seems as though this Kang atrocity is very STD and/or Cancerish. MSGoregasm's worst possible thing was finding out Mike Williams was active. After a major kang the week before, I went against my gut and started him over Kenny Stills. Just like that, 2 weeks in a row, kanged. Someone get me some type of aggressive antibiotic to rid the disgusting boil-creating disease of kang.

Anyone else? Yes. Joon's Football Squad.
Not because it was a "bad move" just cause it's insane. Marvin Jones scored 4 TDs. LULZJETS. He kanged 36.2 points. He would have destroyed Thobias and stayed in 1 loss status.

Now... anyone's hopes dead?
Yes. Scoop, is dead.
Please try to play spoiler but more importantly do not finish winless... that's insanely hard to do... get that win dude.

i got a win is pretty much dead too. If he goes undefeated he finishes at 8 wins. So statistically not dead. Will take a miracle though.

The top is extremely congested now with 3-6win teams, 2-5win teams, and 3-4win teams.

7 teams, 4 spots. It's likely that 3 playoff teams will come from the legends division... AGAIN.

Step it up leaders. We might need to shake it up for next year.

Anyways. I can't do the note next week. Busy week next week. Volunteers?

k thanks.

Probable Replacements: VDavis to TE, Durham, FA everything.

Congrats if you weren't listed. It means you don't have a ridiculous Bye week and are smarter than everyone else.

So what does this mean...
It means these teams can smile:
Thobias Funke: Gets Calvin's Johnson on probably the worst bye week situation I've ever seen.

Cruz to Victor and New York Giants face each other so that might be a slap fight

SCOOP gets Ansah week 10 and maybe can get a win.

NYG gets scoop this week.

36 Dollar Man gets a very crippled Commish team

Ansah can pre-avenge the commish this week

Joon's Football Squad gets Thobias this week.

Of course it's not a given, nothing better than winning with bench players, but CJ in week 10 and EoSB in week 9... will just have to bend over and take it.

============================================================

Reviews:

36 Dollar Man (6-1)
fondles to death
Team Excrement (4-3)

Holy, Bejesus.
Team Excrement's players pretty much quit on him.
Arian left in the first quarter.
CJ is hurt and ran for 11 yards then caught passes for NEGATIVE yards. Finished with 0.7.
Emmanuel Sanders decided to match that performance.

I mean I'll stop here.
No one showed up. Even Tom Terrific had a bad day. Which is depressing for me.
Looks like the Bills comparison was right. Injuries man. Injuries.

36 Dollar Man on the other hand rolled.
Forte, was fantastic. 3 scores. Lifted Romo and had his DK kick in 26 points. WRs continue to be erratic and inconsistent but this is clearly the best RB corp in the league now (Thanks Joon...) Forte and Marshawn are TIED for 2nd best RB in the league and Bush comes in as #8.
One loss team looks to ride his 3 headed monster to the playoffs.

------------------------------------------------------------

Joon's Football Squad (6-1)
bitchslaps
Cruz to Victor (3-4)

Pain for Paul.
Adrian and Gio didn't do their part... at all. 5.6 and 5.9?
That Jamaal trade is going to continue to haunt him.
He had the best RB Duo in the league and suddenly, AD is clearly not himself given tragedy and now INJURY.
Cruz is also extremely disappointing as his team continues to suck. Even though they got their first win, he wasn't a part of it at all.

For Joon, everybody was just solid. Solid but surprising. Quizz got 18.2 points. How? Not on the ground for sure. Sproles 2.0 caught two TDs through the air. Will be interesting to see what happens when SJax comes back. CJ got 17 points against SAN FRAN!!!!??!?!?!? Chillout. Same story. Got a screen pass and ran with his "get away from the cops speed" for a phenomenal score. When ARodgers rolls, this is the type of extra production this team needs. 25 from Aaron and 4 or 5 double digit performances allows this team to keep up with most.
Still only a 1-loss team.

------------------------------------------------------------

Calvin's Johnson (5-2)
burns the soul of
SCOOP YOU (0-7)

Wow. Just wow. SCOOP's team showed up this week... kinda.
Luck went nuts against his predecessor. 30 Points! Looked brilliant.
Trent however, wasn't part of the game at ALL. 1.7 points? From a first rounder who was traded for ANOTHER 1st round pick? Good for me for having Donald Brown I guess? Harry Douglas (someone I kept wanting him to trade over to me) broke out with 20.9 points albeit against TB. Gronk finally played and got yards. Only yards though. This team's RB situation is not going to allow SCOOP to get into the win column. This week, he has nobody... so good luck and God bless.

Calvin's Johnson.
FINALLY GETS A HIT!
I should not be biased but this guy continues to roll yet Reggie Wayne is now out for the season. What does this mean?
...
He still has forehead android...
But forehead android hasn't been looking so hot lately. Of course that means nothing since his "not so hot" is the average of the ELITE QBs. But he'll definitely need some effort from the rest of his team. Maybe newly acquired DMac will decide to stay healthy and be a boss like he used to be. It really helps his situation as MJD and DeAngelo... are just.... so so terrible.

I'm not sure if this team is my favorite to win it all anymore. Definitely evens things out in the league.

------------------------------------------------------------

Thobias Funke (4-3)
cackles his way past
Exile of the Sea Bass (4-3)

Stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid.

eff this guy

What a terrible Kang.
How ironic that it is me that throws down the ultimate kang?
The kangiest Big Poppi Kangadoodle Kang Kang.

Okay, sorry.
21.7 vs -0.9
Cutler had the better matchup, and didn't lose his top two targets to injury. Yet Cutler decides he's going to play a couple minutes and fall like an idiot and walk off the field like he just sharted his pants. 96.6 potential score dropped down to 74 thanks to poor decision-making by moi.

Thobias had a surprisingly poor day. Foles was supposed to do better than 5.7 and an injury against a Dallas team that allows everygame to be a shootout. Andre sucks, and Jamaal was good but a couple of things kept him from breaking 20 (like his fumble). Even with a nice boost, thanks to an unexpected score for kerley, the bye put in Kris Durham (who I hate), Thobias only managed 86.5. Gifted with a win.

------------------------------------------------------------

Ansahppable Cabrera (4-3)
LOLZ and gets on a ROFLCOPTER after beating
What Am i doing (2-5)

OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
0.5 point difference.
All Doug Martin's fault. Torn labrum on a nasty spill forced Doug Martin out of the game. Ironically if he had gotten injured while MAKING the catch, he would have won. Instead the hit jarred the ball loose and he lost. Or... Lamar Miller's coaches keeps the faith and (correctly) sticks with him over DThomas.. Walter wins. OR... Greg Jennings on monday acts like man and catches one more of the TEN TARGETS he got on monday and he wins...OR... Cecil Shorts plays instead of Greg and... yeah okay you get it.

As for Ansah. Solid week.
I'm not sure what to think about Larry Fitz anymore. It was against Sherman so... it's forgivable. Now Stafford had a great day and Lacy, whom I finally got to see a lot of, looked great albeit against the Browns. It was a good day on all fronts for Ansah. There was some surprising balance from this team. I have my doubts but that's two weeks in a row for both Ridley and Lacy with double digit performances. Everything seems to be starting to click for this team, most importantly, the chemistry between Dalton and Green. Green looked identical to his "mentor" Calvin last week. Starting to fear this team. Part of the reason why I selected him over me and the other 4-3 teams for the 4th spot. Oh and speaking of. He is the #4 seed now.

------------------------------------------------------------

New York Giants (1-6)
does a post-sack dance in a blowout game on
Atlanta Lions (3-4)

HA.
IRONY.
I say he's NYG, and they both get wins on the same day.
Check #1 is checked. he needs to win out to have a chance.

Easier to pick the right QB when only one is healthy. Kaep and the SF staff decided to do the right thing and put him in the pistol again. It helped a LOT. Now, other than Decker and surprisingly, Mathews, not much was done but it was a decent "not much". 104.1 was a good total for week 7.
Congrats

Atlanta Lions can celebrate as SJax may return on a team that has no WRs anymore. Well... kinda. SJax is awesome catching passes. That D needs to be used in the right situations though as it's the 2nd negative performance on a non-offensive-juggernaut. Alfred should be fine but Hillman is not the answer in RB2. His top two WRs are good but again that 3rd one is interesting. I can't find the answer for this team...

Week 6

Your week in gifs.

Tigers.
Man that was a brutal loss.

I believe in JV.
Go Tigers.

As far as football this week. We just witnessed another huge week from a manager last year that broke our league record for highest point total. This year's team is nothing compared to last year on paper. However, the Kansas City Chiefs' Defense is going nuts right now. They've scored in almost every game this year.

Congrats on the dominating week with 165.1.

Let's get it started.

============================================================

JFS (5-1)
def
SCOOP YOU (0-6)

LOL.
I got one more.

I've never seen this before.
ZERO double digit performers, including 3 non-bye players on the bench. The top scorer was kicker DAVID AKERS with 9.
You need to do some trades or something. There's only one player in the top ten by position on this team and after MNF I wouldn't be surprised if Luck falls out of the top ten once the stats hit.

As for JFS, not a productive week. But how awesome is it to win when 4 players are on bye. No note-worthy performances for him this week. ARodgers has now gone 3 straight starts under 20 points but he'll be fine. 5-1 is the only stat that matters right now.

------------------------------------------------------------

36 Dollar Man (5-1)
def
i need a win (0-6)

Good news for Jeff Kim and his team is that his team is starting to get it together. Major shame that he kanged Brandon Jacobs. Hard to start over Ray Rice and I guess it's a toss up when it comes to Bell. Painful moment right there. I think the difference between 1-5 and 0-6 is colossal.
The QB situation is interesting. Everyone thought, "wow, what a deal" after the draft and first 2 weeks. Now we think, "dang, that sucks".

Aside from Kaep and Moreno, nothing really special from his offensive players yet he managed a nice 96.3 points. Maybe tides are starting to turn.

As for Mr 5-1. Romo. Yikes. Amendola might be out a while.
Recently acquired Marshawn Lynch threw down 27.5 points and our favorite Former Mr. Kardashian continues to be a key player for our Lions.
On a low scoring week he managed 108. Very nice.

------------------------------------------------------------

Exile of the Sea Bass (4-2)
def
Cruz to Victor (3-3)

It's been a LONG LONG time (at least from what I can remember) where I needed MNF to go my way. Woodhead is great yet he's even greater in my mind for doing enough to have his team win and have my team win as well. HURRAY WOODHEAD.

What an awful week for EoSB. The top performers including bye replacement and possible future starter Jay Cutler did... aaiigghhttt... WTF was wrong with Torrey and screw this Sean McGrath guy.

If I told you before the week that I'd score 80 points against RG3, AD, Gio, Cruz, and Demaryius, you'd have said I'm dead. Not so fast my friend. Can't blame AD for his game. Carolina's front guys are great and a terrible terrible tragedy has to be on AD's mind. Everyone else but Gio, complete underperformance. Shame.

------------------------------------------------------------

Calvin's Johnson (4-2)
def
Atlanta Lions (3-3)

Shoot. This was the week I was talking about last week. Of course 107.9 is a hard total to top but Peyton had an off day. But how annoying is Kevin's team? Having to deal with Peyton and Julius Thomas. Perhaps as annoying as a tick on your penis.

Regardless of Peyton's 2 fumble and 1 INT day, Calvin's Johnson got a balanced attack and is really benefiting from a guy (ugh I should have been patient) that came back from his suspension, Justin Blackmon. Bleh. Curse you, superman.

As for Mr. Yeun, good call on Cam. Nothing much he could have done. I can only say that SJax needs to come back ASAP. With Julio out for the season I can only see more ways for him to get involved in the offense. All his receivers had a down week minus Stephen Hill whom I expect nothing from.

I would say ATL catches a break next week with a matchup with 0-5 i need a win but he's starting to get in a groove. Also, Sproles is on bye.

------------------------------------------------------------

Team Excrement (4-2)
def
What Am i doing (2-4)

Story of the week for What Am i doing.
Cecil Shorts out with an injury before recording any stats.
Jimmy Graham did the same thing. One 0 can be overcome (see EoSB), however 2? Especially from the #1 Jimmy Graham.
Muscle Hamster continued being irrelevant and the Vincent Jackson's 23.4 was essentially wasted.

I LOVE TOM BRADY.
What a BOSS. I mean 14.4 points is whatever but did you see that last drive? Epitome of COOL.

the story of Team Excrement's week is 25 points from the Rams D. It's official. Houston QBs have an addiction to throwing pick sixes. What a terrible disappointment the Texans have been.
Fortunately for Team Excrement Arian did fine this week.

If Brady gets on a roll, look out.

------------------------------------------------------------

Ansahppable Cabrera (3-3)
def... no. nut punches
Thobias Funke (3-3)

OUCH.
Last week is hurting more and more now.
114.9. Great week by Thobias. As I mentioned, the new squad showed that they had tremendous potential 114.9 on a slow week is pretty damn good.
Although I'd consider Brees' performance as an underperformance, Ellington had a surprising day and Vernon Davis finally broke out after his great week 1. Why Kaep doesn't go to him more... no one will ever know.

HOWEVER.
Like the GIF. If he checked his team stats first and had a good feeling like a wide receiver securing the ball in the endzone before landing... the moment he checked his opponent's day was like a shoulder to the face.

TWENTY SEVEN from a defense that's scored a TD 5 of the 6 weeks played. Ridley had an uncharacteristic 23 points but LOOK. 20 carries. Magic number.
Stafford loves Fauria and Brandon Marshall continued his success. Complete Kang free lineup this week.

165.1 is the new number to beat this season.

============================================================

Playoff picture:

Next week will be a huge indicator of how things will end up. For i need a win and SCOOP YOU... y'all need to start winning. A loss next week will pretty much eliminate you guys although, getting in is... a giant uphill climb.

The 5-1 teams get a decent challenge next week with a 4 game winner and one of the top scorers. A loss really evens things out for 3-4 win teams.

My gut call:

36 Dollar Man.
Calvin's Johnson
JFS
and...
Ansahppable Cabrera given his nice PA stats.

We'll see.

Week 5

Week 5

Sorry about the lateness of this.

Had a midterm + TIGERS BASEBALL WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
ALCS.

Baseball is the best.

Anyways... I'll make this quick

============================================================

Thanks to 2 0-4 teams the top of the standing is VERY

congested. So many 4-1/3-2 teams.

Thobias could have been a 4-1 team but he has the

disadvantage of being on the west coast and couldn't adjust

his lineup after his trade processed in time to drop almost

150. Instead he dropped 73.2 and fell to 3-2

Just a note. If you know you will be unable to set your

lineup for some reason, any email to me... let's say 5

minutes before kickoff of the first game of when any player

you are trying to adjust locks, I will honor and readjust

for you, even if I see if after they play. That way I have

proof that it was your intention.

Another noteworthy matchup was JFS vs Excrement. 0.9 points

is a brutal way to lose. Top 10 closest loss, not #1 but

close enough to hurt.

============================================================

1. Calvin's Johnson
Resembles... Denver Broncos... who else?
Forehead Android is on a tear and it's even worse when he

has the player who's starting to look like his favorite

target. Remember Dallas Clark? Well, Julius is the more

athletic version of the mustachioed great. Like the

Broncos... do the running backs even matter? I doubt any

team in the NFL looks at Denver and says... DAMN. How do I

stop the threeheaded RB corp. No one says that. Like the

Broncos you look at this team's RB situation and giggle. How

SILLY to have DeAngelo, Ball, Bell? Rashad will cease to

matter when DMC comes back (looks like this week).

However you look at it. This team is averaging 115 points a

week.

------------------------------------------------------------

2. 36 Dollar Man
Resembles... Dallas Cowboys
No, I don't just compare them to the team the QB is on.
Yes, he has DeMarco as well, shut up.
Cowboys had a chance to beat the Broncos last week. Mr. Yeun

kindly snapchatted me a video of him watching the game like

a boss while I was sitting on my couch... What made them

push Denver? QB play. What made them fall short? QB play. So

far, Romo is actually having a grand year. 40.9 this week!

Wow. But like the Dallas Cowboys, they can play this way and

have Romo throw over and over again but it doesn't really

correlate to their success.
Looking back to Dallas' season, anytime they run Murray 15

times or more they win. Week 1 was really close so they did

pass a lot but they also ran Murray 20 times. 35 is Romo's

magic number. If he throws 35 times or more, they're 1-3.

QB production is nice but the RBs need to produce. The WRs

minus one is Dez-like every week it seems. THAT'S why this

is the Cowboys.

------------------------------------------------------------

3. Exile of the Sea Bass
Resembles... Detroit Lions
Same record helps. Wes Welker is this team's Calvin.
Can the Lions win without Calvin? This year? Yes. They had

GB in check without him but a win at Lambeau is very hard.

Could the Lions win without Calvin AND Reggie? Never. Never,

never, never. Take LeSean and Welker out and you have a

super average team. There's a stat in baseball called WAR.

Wins above replacement. You replace the two players' totals

with the average for their position and this team can't

produce more than 100 points. Why? Ryan is Stafford. Ryan

needs his ace. WHO IS NOW ON THE IR AND DONE FOR THE SEASON.

Ryan is expected to stay within the 15-20 point range with a

breakout game once in a while if Julio and Roddy are both

healthy. Unfortunately neither of them are.

Bleh.

------------------------------------------------------------

4. Joon's Football Squad
Resembles... New England Patriots
QB is solid. QB is great. Even on a bad day against tough Ds

He won't be "Schaub-ed". Has young receivers who either drop

the ball or has great performances with one who actually is

on the Patriots who by default becomes a go-to type of guy

but is battling injury. The running backs are interesting.

Daryl is Ridley, someone who should be having much more

success... Quiz is Blount, injury to Vereen lets him take

some snaps like SJax's injury to him. Marshawn... maybe it's

a stretch but if Vereen were healthy I'd imagine the Pats

would go to him often and give him the bulk of the runs

given Ridley's turdiness.

Winning is winning. However this team puts up around 100

points per game. Meet a team who can do better and this team

needs their stars to act like stars... WHERE WERE YOU LAST

WEEK BRADY!?

------------------------------------------------------------

5. Cruz to Victor
Resembles... Kansas City Chiefs
A Run first type of team. RB is the key to success with a

solid group of WRs (although Bowe is underacheiving) and a

QB that's a question mark but is hanging around as "decent"

until they blow up to be great or awful.
RG3 only has one 20+ game.
Adrian is the man, everyone knows that. Gio is an up and

comer who SERIOUSLY needs to have the reigns handed to him.

This team discovered cloning technology and cloned Bowe

twice. Cruz and DThomas are fantastic. A non-slumping Bowe

looks like what these two are doing.

Oh and there's the whole, had a history of sucking til this

year thing they have in common. hehe.

------------------------------------------------------------

6. Thobias Funke
Resembles... New Orleans Saints
Kind of hard to stray from that comparison.
Picking the Saints based on the potential of his new lineup.
Brees is back to being a stud and he's surrounded on this

team with capable WRs. No one really wows you but they all

have the potential to blow up if they earn their QBs favor

that day. Gates is a legendary TE and used to be what Graham

is before Graham. Running backs... still weak but they have

a Sprolesian nice pass-catching speedster in Jamaal Charles.

Upgraded version but that's pretty much it at that position.

The focus is off the RB slots and more on the QB, WR, and

TEs. Alshon already proved that 27.8 was kind of... flukey,

but he's capable.

Get this team on a day where the QB and WRs are clicking and

it starts to look dangerous.

------------------------------------------------------------

7. Ansahppable Cabrera
Resembles... Atlanta Falcons pre-Juliogeddon.
QB, average but capable due to his WRs. Staff has Calvin.
This team's wideouts has 3 Solid WRs. Everyone was waiting

for Roddy to heal so the Julio/Roddy/Harry trifecta could

come back into full form and start making Matty Ice look

like a beast. Then Julio decided to die. Luckily for this

team, no one died. However Larry has a Hammy now. Injuries

are keeping this team from having a.. playable RB situation.

Lacy looks... alright? Wilson and Ridley... oh boy. Zac

Stacy is too soon to tell. At least the TE had started to

emerge until they ran into the BIG BAD BUFFALO BILLS.
Falcons, even with Julio and healthy for some reason just

didn't have what it took to get the wins although they have

some stars. But it's about having the right stars in the

right place. SJAX is out and Matt relies on his WRs. Like

them this team has the WRs... but nothing much else. Staff

is too dependent on Calvin on a week to week basis and the

RBs are full of low end RB2s to flex guys.

------------------------------------------------------------

8. Atlanta Lions
Resembles... Indy Colts
Dez is Reggie Wayne. Dependable with great hands.
Steven Jackson is Ahmad Bradshaw. Showed signs of good stuff

til injury took them out. Alfred is Trent Richardson, and

Rivers can be Luck as a rising name (in Rivers' case... re-

emerging) or it can be Cam, a young guy trying to find his

way.
Now the Colts are doing better than this team but when

everyone looks at the Colts, they're just a couple things

away from being a force. I think the combination of Rivers

and Cam can be more than plenty. the RBs need to be at full

strength. If Alfred and SJax are good to go every week this

lineup looks great. Like the Colts they have a veteran stud

(Wayne) and an up and coming young guy (TY Hilton) in Dez

and DeAndre. If Houston fixes their QB issues and SJax is

healthy I don't see why this team wouldn't be able to

increase their PF average. 85.5 like last week just won't

get anything done.

------------------------------------------------------------

9. Team Excrement
Resembles... Buffalo Bills
RB INJURIES.
Nice high ceiling WRs.
A Redzone TE.
A QB that has won the game and blown some too.
Perfect.

Tom Brady had a terrible week and therefore I had a terrible

week cause lord knows I love that man. This team is the lowest point scoring 3-2 team and actually he's scored less than both 2-3 teams. Sounds like the Buffalo Bills with their 2-3 record while team who seem more complete have worse records. This team just needs health. The pieces are there but when no one scoreds 20+ points like this week... it's going to be a challenge. On the bright side, he finished with 105 this week so that's not that bad.

------------------------------------------------------------

10. what am i doing
Resembles... Carolina Panthers

Mobile young QB with a super underachieving RB corp (although not much expected) with decent WRs who seem to be underacheiving as well. Fits perfectly.

TP will always get my hate and deserves it for being a buckeye and an awful person. I think comparing him to Cam is a slap in the face. Now... that is a problem. TP as QB? There has to be better.
Every year, people say, "this is the year _____ breaks out". I think that's been said about MJD for years on years now. It's not this year. The only bright spot on this team is Freddie J and Graham. Production has to come SOMEWHERE on a consistent basis from any position. Sounds just like the Panthers.

------------------------------------------------------------

11. i need a win
Resembles... New York Giants.

Former Champion. Formerly solid at QB.
Fall from grace. Unexpected winless start.
Things are getting worse. Julio is out. Now... having 2 big name QBs seemed to be a blessing and curse but now it just seems like it's a big fat curse. Both QBs are starting to get used to being terrible. The running back situation isn't that bad given Ray Rice is back and heating up. Like the giants... Things just need to start clicking... especially at the QB position. Time is running out if it hasn't already.

------------------------------------------------------------

12. SCOOP YOU
resembles... Jacksonville Jaguars
CLEARLY the weakest team. Only team to not have eclipsed the FOUR hundred PF mark let alone the 5. Jacksonville is full of nobodies, busts, or has beens.
Nobodies - Garrett Graham, Robert Woods.
Busts - Trent, Roddy
Has Beens - Lawfirm, Andre

All well wishes to andrew luck. I really like him. His numbers are astoundingly consistent. However... When you look at the roster you say... ugh.
Just like what people say when they see Jacksonville up close. Needs and overhaul.

Week 4

Week 4

My bad,
had to help two friends move.

Home now, and I guess I'll do this now.

Now this is what I'm talking about!
All but 1 team scored 95ish+

Some interesting storylines are developing in the NFL but one of the most resounding ones is what's going on with the Running backs of the league.

I like to think there's about 6 elite RB1s and about 7-8C RB2s with the rest being pretty... flex-worthy.

In my opinion (before the season started) in no particular order:

RB1 (Elite):
Adrian Peterson (Cruz to Victor)
LeSean McCoy (Exile of the SeaBass)
Marshawn Lynch (Joon's Football Squad)
Arian Foster (Team Excrement)
Jamaal Charles (Cruz to Victor)
Ray Rice (i need a win)

Of these guys 4 of them are in the Top 5 so far.
Arian comes in 8th.
Ray Rice however, with a new offensive coordinator and injuries has clearly fallen from grace. He got 5 carries last time out and 0 catches.

So does having an RB1 help? Obviously doesn't say much this early but all these teams that have a RB1 minus Ray Rice are 2-2 or better. I'll keep track of this as we continue on.

Maybe it does seems to say something as Cruz to Victor has the top two RB1s and leads the league in PF followed by another team with an RB1 (RoSB)

RB2 (solid):

Matt Forte (36 Dollar Man)
Alfred Morris (Atlanta Lions)
Doug Martin (What Am i doing)
Trent Richardson (SCOOP YOU)
Steven Jackson (Atlanta Lions)
MJD (What Am i doing)
CJ Spiller (Team Excrement)
Trent Richardson (SCOOP YOU)

Again, my opinion so of course it's debatable. Some borderline guys in my opinion are Gore, Chris Johnson, Fred Jackson (because he's so hard to predict).

For RB2 I've given them the tag of "solid". Err, expected to be solid. If there are 6 RB1s then theoretically RB2s should be performing at #7 level. Forte (#4) is overachieving and everyone else is underachieving Gore (14), Morris (16), Doug Martin (17), and so on.

So who are the overachieving guys that came in under the radar?

In the top 15, 8 guys don't belong.
Reggie Bush didn't fall into these two categories given the teams he played for combined with the way he was used. Safe to say he is ideal for the Lions offense. The kid missed a game and is still ranked 6th among RBs.

DeMarco Murray has always been overrated after a couple big games his rookie year. Whether that's legit to say that or not, injuries contributed a lot to his lack of production in the past. He looks good... for now. (I traded him away....)

Joique Bell. We're all Lions fans, we know what's up there.

Aforementioned Fred Jackson just refuses to age. Of course he is off the two categories given the frailty that accompanies his age. Just like that... he is injured.

Moreno. Honestly... is such an average runner. But be on a team where you have giant forehead cyborg dominating the league and no one is going to pay attention to you running the ball. Please. Go ahead and run. I don't want to defend a pass against forehead cyborg.

Sproles. This confuses me. Not that he's successful but... the Saints had Reggie Bush. Why didn't they use him like they are using Sproles. Kid is so awkward to watch on TV given his size but he's amazing.

Bilal Powell. WTF? He did have one great game for yardage but they ran it 27 times. Meh.

Giovani Bernard. My biggest sadness. I wanted him very badly during the draft. He was going to do what he's doing from the start. Lawfirm is crap.

I believe the RB1s will establish themselves toward the top by season's end. Minus Ray Rice.

Can these 8 surprise RBs keep it up?

The ones that will:
Reggie Bush (if healthy)
Darren Sproles
Giovani Bernard.

The ones I believe will not:
Murray (I say he gets injured)
Powell (J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS)
Fred Jackson (injuries...)

Bell is hard to predict. If Bush goes down, I think he will have a good chance.
Moreno has a better chance to given his team but they're such a big split amongst RBs (Did you guys see that highlight where the 3 RBs played rock, paper, scissors to determine who got the goal line attempt?) that I can't trust it.

Kind of ruined any attempt at buy-low, sell-high if we have similar opinions. But honestly, this league is too competitive to not be able to think for themselves.

============================================================

Quick hit Matchups:

Joon's Football Squad (3-1)
def
Calvin's Johnson

RB RB RB RB.
Calvin's Johnson doesn't have them.
Ball, Bell, DeAngelo, M Bush, J Franklin.
Nothing. Joique is a vulture potential when Bush is healthy.
Something has to be done.

Tony Gonzalez.
Brilliant game by the timeless one. Even with a kang of Nate Washington for 22.5 points Joon's team scored 100+ and enough to put him at the top of the league. This was done without Aaron Rodgers btw.

------------------------------------------------------------

Thobias Funke (3-1)
def
36 Dollar Man (3-1)

Ding dong the witch is dead.
The last undefeated goes down thanks to awful Wrs.
Also... Bush was left on the bench but it wouldn't have changed anything.

Stevie threw up -0.1. Fantastic.

For Thobias, Brees went nuts. Thobias offered a package including Tavon Austin. That guy got 0.6 points albeit against SF, but still. MEH.
Brees was great. If Gio can fully take over the starting RB position... it'll do wonders as he's kind of weak at RB.

------------------------------------------------------------

Team Excrement (3-1)
def
Exile of the Sea Bass (2-2)

GAH.
Saint D. I had the Saints D streamed. Then I backtracked and went with the Steelers and they threw up -1. Great.
SeaBass got me 1 point, therefore exiled into the FA abyss. What hurts is that the Saints D would have allowed me to beat the guy who is frustrating me in fantasy sports.

Speaking of that man. He got great performances by RB1 Arian Foster and the Colts D. Colts D was fantastic. When your kicker and D scores 33, you win.

------------------------------------------------------------

Atlanta Lions (3-1)
def
SCOOP YOU (0-4)

123.5 - 79.9.
Good performance all for nothing. Philip Rivers is making it hard for ATL to go back to Cam now that his Bye week has passed. At least I would think it's hard. Philip is currently the #3 QB and dropped 26 points.
Even with Steven Hill's 0 points, 4 players (inc. D) scored 20+

SCOOP...
is holding onto Kyle Rudolph the guy has had one... decent game. I get that Gronk needs to come back but shouldn't that mean that Rudolph's roster spot isn't set in stone? Good news is Gronk is coming back soon.
Got a bit too cute with matchups (sitting Andre vs Seattle) but the problem comes from the RB2 and Flex position.

------------------------------------------------------------

Ahsahppable Cabrera (2-2)
def
i need a win (0-4)

It's not as fun when Jeff team isn't winning.
QB thing didn't come into play this time. LeVeon finally played and looked good! Not bad Sparty.
His positional player performance was encouraging. Ray Rice really let him down as well as the D and kicker.

Ansah had a weird week. RBs... again, I don't like his. Maybe Helu keeps it up? Everything looks gross minus Larry Fitz, J Cameron, and the Chiefs D. BMarshall should have more than 10 point every week. But suck it Brandon. LIONS!

------------------------------------------------------------

Cruz to Victor (2-2)
def
What Am i doing (1-3)

Muscle Hamster is looking more like Pinky.
27 rushes for 45 yards. Daheck?
Russell Wilson, I never really liked.
Take away Jimmy's 22 points and there's really not much.
Major kang of 21.2 points from Greg Jennings and Fred Jackson had 14.7 points left on the bench as well.

Cruz to Victor ROLLED. But the crazy thing is... he could have had MORE. Starting Alex Smith against one of the worst in the league isn't absurd. If he had he gets 9 more points and Danny Woodhead in the flex over Streater would have gotten him 18.8 more.
Damn. 160+ potential points.

============================================================

I'm skipping "power rankings"

I'll do something with it next week instead.

Don't cry Daniel Shin.

APOW: Cruz to Victor (2)
Turd: SCOOP YOU (2)
